city counsel

This Tuesday, December 15th, our city counsel will be voting to approve our site and building. This is the last hurdle we have to clear on the city and planning level.  We would really like to pack out this city counsel meeting with as many of you as possible to show support for the building and site.  Please try and be there if at all possible.

place: Global Water Builgin

time: 7:00 pm

Date December 15th

Hope to see you all there!

ground breaking!

We are going to have an official ground breaking ceremony this Sunday afternoon, December 6th @ 3:00 pm. Bring you lawn chairs, and you cameras, its happening!

Plans are to begin moving dirt on the property the week of December 14th.  The contractor has already begun the demolition of the modular units this week.  Its very cool to see stuff happening.

See you on Sunday!

Planning and zoning approval

Last night Maricopa planning and zoning commission  unanimously approved  our new site plan and building! This means that we only have one more stop to make at City Council on Dec 15th, and we are well on our way to moving into our own building this spring. Hopefully in time for Easter Sunday 2010.

We hope to begin demolition of the inside of the modulars in the next week, and be moving dirt by mid December. This is all very good news, and is a true answer to prayers.

Many of you may not realize that COH held its very first public service on Easter Sunday 2005. It was just a preview service, and we did not begin weekly gatherings until fall, but it was our first time gathering as a church.  If we are able to move into our own building 5 years later it would be a huge miracle.

Many thanks go out to everyone that has worked so hard on making this happen. And to everyone that has given so much of their time and their finances.  God can’t do His work without us.

Look for some work to begin sometime in the next week or so!

Big meeting this Thursday

Need you to pray that our meeting on Thursday goes well. If it does we will take a huge step towards moving dirt very, very, soon.

first color redering of our new home

This is a view from the West looking towards the N. E. this will be the main entrance for the School and for the church.  Pretty Cool!

latest news

We have completed our first meeting with the city and we only have a few details that we need to finish up.  The next step in for the Planning and zoning committee to okay us.  The plans are for this to be complete in the next few weeks.  Keep praying that God continues to keep the process moving forward with no other complications.

plans are submitted

Our plans are in to the city! Here are the elevations and site plans!

update

We are very close to having our plans for the site and the building ready to present to the city for approval.  Its amazing how much goes in to the details.  Here is a aerial picture that was taken by our architect as he was preparing the drawings.

long way to go

As you can see from the pictures all of the portables are on site. They don’t look real pretty, but I assure you that in the next few months you see a much different picture.  We are preparing a site plan that includes setting the buildings at ground level, parking, sidewalks, landscaping, playground equipment, shades, some grass, and hopefully a prayer type area, as well as painting the buildings to match the surrounding area.  I promise it will look much different than it does today.

lots of stuff happening

As of today almost all of the 28 modular buildings are on our site. We are meeting with our architect this week to begin working on our site plan.  We are still a long, long, way from getting the keys to building, but we are are making some real progress.
